Adjustments to payroll journals aren't being saved

Hi,

I hope someone can help us with this please.

We use QB standard payroll.  Each month we amend the standard journals set up in QB to analyse out the expenses for each employee or, as recently, to change the bank account used.  This month, the journals don't appear to be saved (yes, I do press 'save and close' before leaving), so nothing changes.  When I go back into the journal, the original postings are still there.  I have tried this twice now.

Does anyone have any clues as to what I should be doing differently please?  Really grateful for any help.

Thank you

Hi there.

Upon carefully checking here on our end, there are no ongoing investigations about payroll journals not saving in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let's ensure this doesn't have something to do with the program by performing basic browser troubleshooting. I'll walk you through the process to get you going.

You'll want to access your company file in a private or incognito browser. Use the following shortcut keys to access a private browser:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once you're in, try to make changes in your payroll journals. If it works and you're able to get through, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache. Refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, I've got this article to help you add more details when running reports inside QuickBooks: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be here, ready to provide further assistance if needed. Stay safe, and enjoy your weekend!
