I need to upgrade from online standard payroll to advanced payroll mid tax year. Does the advanced automatically pick up the employees data that exists in the standard system or does it only effectively start a new payroll where i will need to key existing data from the standard system?

You’re right, @Paul161157.

 

Upgrading your standard payroll subscription to advanced will start a new payroll. You can import your employees but need to manually enter the existing data from your standard payroll.

Then, if you wish to upgrade your payroll subscription, you can follow these steps below:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, go to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  2. Select the Billing & Subscription section.
  3. In the QuickBooks Payroll section, click the Upgrade your plan link.
  4. Choose the Advanced Payroll subscription and follow the on screen steps to finish the setup.
