Question

Anybody else support the need to be able to define their tax year dates in the mileage profile? (So the figure generated is accurate)

Hi there, @copperph1.

You can manually edit your Trips in QuickBooks and enter the correct information in your mileage profile. This to ensure that your trips and vehicle info during the year is accurate, so everything is completed to make deductions at tax time. Let me show you how.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online in a web browser.
  2. Go to the Mileage or Trips menu.
  3. Select the All or Reviewed tab.
  4. Find the trip you want to edit.
  5. Select More ▼ and then Edit.
  6. Make your changes.
  7. Select Save.

In case you need to export your mileage data, just select the Export icon in the Mileage menu. QuickBooks downloads your trips to your computer as a CSV file. It should be in your Downloads folder.

For more details on how to automatically tracks trips from start to finish, check out this article: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online.
