This isn't what I want you to experience with QuickBooks, marksammon. Let me make it up to you by making sure this gets fixed.

Unusual behaviors when sending car returns to HRMC are sometimes caused by a browser-related issue. The stored cache can affect the program's performance.

To resolve this, I'd suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Online account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once logged in, send your car return again. If it does, let's clear the browser's cache. This removes its stored files to ensure the program performs efficiently.

You can also access your account using other supported browsers. They'll provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.

Additionally, I've included an article that'll help you submit a VAT return to HMRC. This ensures everything is filed on time: VAT Return - MTD for Small Businesses.

Don't hesitate to get back to me if you have any other QuickBooks concerns, marksammon. I'll be here to help you out.
