Can anyone explain why I cannot update the tax codes of 2 of my employees on Advanced Payroll. They are higher rate taxpayers; could that have anything to do with it?

I'll make sure you're able to update the tax codes of 2 of your employees on QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced Payroll, @sheila27.

Regardless of your employees' rate, you should be able to update their tax codes using the Advanced Payroll platform seamlessly. With this, you can use a private/incognito window to isolate this matter. The regular browser will store cache and over time it'll cause unusual behavior to the QBO system.

To save you time, use either of these keyboard shortcuts:

• Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
• Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
• Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
• Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once you're signed in to your QBO account, go to the Employees menu to update your employees' tax codes. For the step-by-step guide, you can follow these steps:

1. Go to the Employees or Payroll menu.
2. In the Employees tab, click the employee's name you want to update.
3. Go to the Tax Information section, then click on the Pencil or Edit icon.
4. Update the code.
5. Select Save to record the changes.

I've attached screenshots below that show the last three steps.

If you're able to successfully update your employees' tax info, return to your regular browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and will remove older files that causes viewing and performance issue. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.
