Hello Community Users👋 Just wanted to pop in and add a comment to this thread. You can now submit your monthly CIS  return directly to HMRC in QuickBooks Online. We've included a how to link here to an article that goes through how to do this. Any questions please don't hesitate to add them to this thread.

Hi dpwg1966,

CIS returns cannot be submitted to HMRC through QuickBooks, you will need to manually enter the details from the return onto their website :)

Thanks

Have they still not set up submission yet? It's Jan 2020. Why did it ask for my submission Gateway when setting up if it's not able to submit?

Submitting CIS returns is already available in QuickBooks Online, Richard.

Let me share these steps with you so you can submit the payments online:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and proceed to the CIS tab.
  2. Select the period that you'll be paying, then click View return under the Action column.
  3. Click Submit to HMRC.
  4. Enter your Government Gateway login credentials.
  5. Follow the succeeding prompts to complete the submission process.

We also have a couple of articles about tracking CIS for more details:

You can also add another reply below if you have other concerns. We're open 24/7 to make sure everything is taken care of.
