Deceased employee on standard payroll

I have an employee who died. I had to make him as a leaver and submi. The reasons for leaving suggested by QB were:

Dismissed, redundant, resigned, retired.  There was no option for deceased.

I had an online chat with an agent who couldn't help me and said she would log it with an engineer.

Surely many other employees must have died in service.

Why is there no option for Deceased in Standard Payroll?

Hello there, @sue.mikeknightau.

I understand the importance of this option for your deceased employee. In the meantime, you can choose the option provided.

To mark an employee as a leaver, here's how:

  1. Go to the Employees or Payroll menu.
  2. Select the name of the employee to open the profile.
  3. Select Actions and select Mark as leaver under the employee name.
  4. For Details of leaving and select the most appropriate option on the drop-down.
  5. Click Done.
