I've got some steps we can perform to fix the error message, userclubbiedeans. 

 

There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequent access to web pages or damaged. This causes the odd behavior in QuickBooks Online (QBO). To better isolate this issue, let's try signing in to your account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

 

Next, log in to QBO as you normally would and process payroll through the private window. When there are no error messages, close it out and go back to the regular browse. Next, clear the cache to fix the connection problem. Finally, close the browser to complete the process. Another way to fix this is to use another supported browser
