Does a P45 automatically go to the HMRC?

One of our staff members have left the company, i have terminated their employment on QuickBooks and issued them a P45.  Does the P45 go straight the HMRC as the HMRC are saying they haven't got it.

Hi Helen81, the P45 is submitted on the EPS (employer payment summary) - on the standard payroll, this can be submitted from the payroll tax dashboard (taxes > payroll tax) between the 6th - 19th of the following tax month. If you miss a submission, you can simply delete the EPS record and submit the EPS generated in the following tax month, as these are cumulative reports. 🙂
