Hi, I'm fairly new to Quickbooks and I can't delete payroll journal substitutions. It's not giving me the option to delete and keeps throwing me back to payroll history

When deleting payroll journal substitutions using QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll, you must delete the associated pay run, Cooganjill. However, steps may differ depending on your payroll subscription. I'm here to discuss this further and lay out these steps.

Before deleting a pay run in QuickBooks, print out its pay slips and reports to retain the necessary information if you need to recreate it. Also, you cannot delete them if your books are closed. Moreover, here is the process with the corresponding QBO Payroll subscription details:

1. Log into your QBO account.
2. Go to Payroll, then select Employees.
3. Select the Employee who needs their pay run deleted.
4. Pick the most recent pay period.
5. Locate the pay run you want to delete on the Payment List tab, then click Delete from the dropdown options.
6. You can either choose to Delete this payroll payment or select Close to cancel the action.
7. Repeat these steps for any additional pay runs that you need to delete.

• For QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advance Payroll

1.  Log into your QBO account.
2. Go to Payroll, then click the Pay Runs tab.
3. Select the pay period you wish to delete.
4. Click Pay Run Actions, then click Unlock.
5. After unlocking the pay run, tap Delete Pay Run.
6. Select Delete to confirm.
