Question

How can I amend pension deductions calculations for an employee on SMP? Currently the calcs seem to be using the SMP income rather than regular pay.

Hi simonb1,

Can we check which version of the payroll you're using, Standard or Advanced?

Was the employee paid SMP and regular salary within the same period?

Thanks

No.  The employee only received SMP.  There was nil regular pay

Thanks for providing additional details of your concern, @simonb1.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO) pension deduction depends on the percentage and the pensionable item you've selected. If its calculation is on the wrong pay, you'll need to check the pensionable item and determine what and where it should be deducted. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the right top, and then select Account and Settings.
  2. Select Payroll.
  3. Click Pension pay types to expand it.

Then, you have to contact our QBO care team to help you delete and recreate the payroll to have the correct pension calculation. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, click the Contact Us button located at the bottom.
  3. Enter your concern, and select Let's talk.
