I'm here to share some insights on how Annual leave works in the Advanced Payroll, jobohm1.

We can cap or limit the leave accruals for your employees. Allow me to share additional information on how it works.

We can use the calculator icon in the Standard Allowance section to help calculates the leave privileges your employees will have. Besides, you can set a maximum of hours or a limit for your annual leave category. Doing so will allow you to select whether or not hours accrued is a cap.

Here's how to set up your employee's leave accrual:

  1. Go to the Payroll Settings and choose Leave Categories.
  2. Scroll down to the Standard Allowance section.
  3. Click on the calculator icon.
  4. Choose your desired method of accrual.
  5. Click on Apply.

For more detailed instructions about this, please refer to this article: Leave Categories in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.

That should do it! I'm just a post away if you need additional help regarding leave categories in QBO Advanced. I'm always here to help.

Hello Carol76,

Welcome to the Community page,

Can we ask which payroll is it you are using in Quickbooks, is it standard or advanced in order to help you with your Question?

The way to tell is when you click on the payroll tab if you have two other tabs then showing to click on saying employees and payroll that is standard payroll, if you have no other tabes showing when you click payroll it is advanced payroll you are using.
