How do I change my self assessment tax date. It has always been 1st November to 31st October. But I am unsure of how to change this is the self assessment submission.

Our QuickBooks Self-Employed program for United Kingdom is preset with a default tax year period. The cycle in the program usually starts from April 6 - April 5 of next year. For now, changing the tax year within the program is currently unavailable.

 

Being able to update the year manually would be handy for businesses using a different accounting period. We're taking not of this for review and we appreciate your time visiting us today.

Allow me to share some information about the Self-Assessment submission.

 

QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is in compliance with the HMRC’s Self-Assessment tax period. Thus, the option to change the Self-Assessment tax date in QBSE is not available.

 

As a way around, I’d suggest contacting the HMRC. There, they’ll be able to advise you on the best action to take in changing your Self-Assessment tax date.

Hi, sorry you misunderstand me, I have always used these dates for my income  tax returns. 

But with quickbooks how do I change the date on there. Since I believe it is using 1st April to March.
