How do I enter historical payroll data in QuickBooks Online

Hello there, @info872.

You can enter Prior Payroll information into QuickBooks Online (QBO) yourself as long as:

The information being entered is within the current calendar year.
You haven't created any current Paychecks using QBO yet.

Here's how:

Click Employees on the left pane.
Click the employee you wish to enter YTD figures for.
Click Year to Date on the left menu.
You will notice all the fields are inactive. To make the field active and available to change, click Make Adjustments on the bottom right corner.

Is there any way to edit YTD's after I have run payroll in Quick Books already?

I know how important it is to get everything started on the right track with your payroll, egwest.

Normally, you only need to enter active and current employees for your QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP). If you want to update their Year-to-Date information after running payroll, I recommend contacting our Payroll Suppor Team to help you make the necessary edits. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment. Here's how to reach them.

Select the Help menu.
In the Assistant window, enter Talk to a human.
Enter your brief concern in the field.
Type in/click I still need a human until you see the Get help from a human option.
Choose a way to connect with our support.
