I have added the amount in the Statutory payments section in the "set employer pension protection" section, but it isn't going through. What's wrong?

Hi there, caroline.

Let me help check why the Statutory Maternity Pay won't show up on the Statutory Payments page. You may need to edit the record and make sure you didn't miss any field from the setup.

Here's how to edit a Statutory Maternity Pay record.

  1. Go to Payroll, then select Employees.
  2. Choose the name of the employee whose SMP record you wish to edit.
  3. Select Statutory Payments.
  4. From the Statutory Maternity Pay section, select the pencil icon for the record you wish to edit.
  5. Update the fields as required.
  6. Click Save.

Once done, check again the record on the Statutory Maternity Pay section. If it isn't showing up, you'll want to delete and set up again the pay.

Here's how to delete the record.

  1. Go to Payroll, then select Employees.
  2. Choose the name of the employee whose SMP record you wish to delete.
  3. Select Statutory Payments.
  4. From the Statutory Maternity Pay section, select the bin icon for the record you wish to delete.
  5. Click Delete to confirm.

To set up again the Statutory Maternity Pay, please browse this article: Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll. Then, go to the Add a Statutory Maternity Leave section for instructions. You can also watch the video tutorial for a visual guide.

Now you're ready to pay your employees. Check out this article to help manage your employees: QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll hub.
