Question

How to import payroll data into quickbooks / quickbooks payroll?

Hey,

I'm not a QuickBooks user and haven't had the chance to use it yet, but I will soon.

I'm the lead developer of time and attendance / clocking software, and we'd like to integrate it with QuickBooks if possible. However, I have no knowledge of how and what Quickbooks supports in terms of Timesheets and Payroll.

Our software knows the amount of hours an employee worked, what rates (IE Normal, Overtime but not the actual monetary value). Can we allow our users to import this into QuickBooks payroll? If it's possible is this via manual CSV File import or a Rest API or something else?

Thank you for your time!

Hey,

Thank you. It does make more sense to post in the developer community.

I originally posted here because I believed a regular user could import CSV Files containing this type of data.

Is that correct? I can't remember fully, but I think I may have seen a guide on how to do this in the Docs. It wasn't clear if this was explicitly for Quickbooks Time, not the other products.

Thank you again and I'll head over to the dev community and the resources you've sent.
