I am trying to add an hourly rate in projects but don't know how it tells me to do this but there is no hourly cost rate button

Let me walk you through how to add an hourly rate to projects using your QuickBooks Online.

 

Please follow the steps below and use the screenshot as your reference: 

 

For Employee's side:

 

  1. Go to Business Overview and select Projects (Take me there).
  2. Select Employee hourly rate
  3. Under the Cost Rate column, enter the amount.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Click Done.

 

 

For Vendors and Contractors side:

 

  1. Go to Expenses and select a specific vendor.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Scroll down to Additional info.
  4. Under Expense rates, enter the Cost rate per hour.
  5. Select Save.

 

 

Moreover, the newly updated hourly rate will not reflect on existing weekly timesheets unless you manually delete them one at a time and recreate them.
