Question

I do not want to use the CIS tool in QuickBooks, so how do I send EPS information (CIS Deductions suffered) to HMRC?

Hello there, eastownconstruct,

I'm here to help send your EPS information to HMRC.

You can pull up the CIS Contractor Monthly Statement report. It shows your monthly CIS 300 return due to HMRC with a breakdown of the CIS withheld.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Reports from the left navigation bar, then to go Standard.
  2. Proceed to Manage Constructions Industry Scheme (CIS), then click CIS Contractor Monthly Statement.
  3. Then, use the information and manually submit it to HMRC since you don't want to use the CIS tool in QuickBooks Online.

In case you want to use the CIS toll, simply follow the steps outlined below on how to submit your returns:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and proceed to the CIS tab.
  2. Select the period that you'll be paying, then click View return under the Action column.
  3. Click Submit to HMRC.
  4. You also click Export as PDF and use the information when submitting them manually to HMRC.
  5. Enter your Government Gateway login credentials.
  6. Follow the succeeding prompts to complete the submission process.

We also have a couple of articles about tracking CIS for more details:

Should you need anything else, please let me know. I'm always around here in the QuickBooks Community forum to help.
