Question

I dont have any employees yet payroll is still saying its overdue. An FPS was sent to HMRC with the last payroll. Is it possible to delete employees or another way to stop it showing as payroll overdue?

Let's investigate why the payroll overdue message appears in your account, kmb1.

What payroll provider are you using? It's possible there are payroll liabilities have not been paid in QuickBooks Online (QBO). It could be there are liabilities were overpaid in one period and underpaid in a previous period.

Before deleting the employees in QBO, let's review first if there are unpaid liabilities.

If none, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment. Then, they'll investigate what's causing the payroll overdue message to appear even though you don't have any employees.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click Help on the top menu.
  2. Hit Contact Us.
  3. Enter payroll overdue in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Tick Let's talk.
  5. Select Get a callback or Get the number to connect with us.
