Question

I have a FPS showing as overdue but I filed it on time last month. QB won't let me submit current month FPS as it says last months is outstanding. What do I do?

I filed last month FPS when I ran payroll (the day before the pay day) and it submitted successfully but QB is telling me it's still outstanding. When I press 'file' on it to try and clear it QB tells me I've already filed it! I am unable to file current month FPS as it says I have one outstanding but I don't! How do I resolve this?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, helen. I see the importance of resolving this, and I'm here to provide support in filing your FPS using QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Firstly, we'll have to ensure that the submitted Full Payment Summary (FPS) is accepted by HRMC. You can view its status using your QBO account and I'm here to show you how.

  1. Head to Payroll.
  2. Go to the Reports tab.
  3. Select RTI submission messages in the HRMC reporting.
  4. Set the date range.
  5. Click Search, then you'll see a list of your submissions and their status, whether, it's Accepted, Pending, or Rejected.

On the other hand, if it's rejected, I recommend reviewing your FPS details and filing them again. You can read these articles to learn more about submitting one.

Furthermore, if they're accepted, we can go ahead and contact our support team so they can thoroughly investigate the reason why you're unable to make this process on your end. Our customer care team has the tools and expertise that are necessary to resolve this concern.

To contact them, here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click Help.
  3. Write a topic you need help with in QB Assistant.
  4. Choose the Search tab to view the Contact Us option. This way, you can talk or chat with a live support agent.
  5. You can select a way on how you can connect with us:
  • Start a chat with our expert. They're active from Monday to Friday.
  • You can also Call us from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM from Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

In case you want to generate your employee's details, you can read this article for guidance: Email or download payslips in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.

Feel free to reply to this post if you have questions about your FPS fillings. I'll be sure to help you anytime.
