Question

I have a self employed job plus I've just started my own small business. How do I sort this out on here?

Thanks for choosing QuickBooks in managing your business, usercharlesbarrett19.

If you are referring to moving your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) data to QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can download your QBSE data, then import them to your QBO account. Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks Self-Employed, select the Transactions menu.
  2. Filter the TypeAccount, and Date.
  3. Select the download icon to the right for the CSV file.
  4. Save it on your computer that's easy to find.

Then, import your .CSV file to QuickBooks. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, and then select Imports.
  2. Tap Import older transactions on the right for the account you want the transactions to belong to.
  3. Follow the instructions onscreen to finish importing your data.
  4. Press Import.

After completing the process, log in to your QBO company and import the transactions via WebConnect. About invoices, you’ll have to manually input them into your QBO account. You can refer to the Switch to another version of QuickBooks from the QuickBooks Self-Employed article for more details about this one.
