Solved

I made an error in Jan payroll after finalising it, I unlocked it fixed the error, then finalised it again. I don't know if the RTI has been resubmitted to HMRC?

@MarsStephanieL I don't have the Payroll tax as an option under the Taxes menu?

Also the EEs who I made the mistake for don't pay Tax as they don't earn enough so not sure an EPS would make a difference?

Thanks for your help

Hi LizaM1,

Thanks for getting back to us on this thread, the directions above are for the Standard payroll, whereas it sounds like you're using the Advanced payroll.

If you're unable to view the submission for the corrected pay run in the RTI Submission Message report, I'd be grateful if you could submit this again by going to pay runs > click into pay run > pay run actions > unlock > finalise pay run.

When re-submitting, you will be given the option to select a late reason, please select option H - Correction to earlier submission to make sure this over-writes all previous submissions that HMRC have received for this period.

Get back to us below if there are any issues 🙂

Hi LizaM1,

You can check this on the advanced payroll by going to Payroll > Reports > RTI Submission Messages.

I can only see a submission from 24th January when I submitted the original nothing from 27th January when I re-finalised the Payrun?

Hello there, @LizaM1.

Allow me to share some details about the submitted RTI through QuickBooks Online.

If the previous RTI was successfully submitted, you may need to submit an EPS to HMRC. You may check with them if you're going to resubmit an Employer Payment Summary (EPS). Here's how:

You have the option to delete that FPS notification. Let me show you how:

  1. Select the Taxes menu.
  2. Click the Payroll Tax tab.
  3. Look for the FPS submission, then delete it by clicking the trash can icon.

I've added this article for your additional reference:

View submitted FPS and EPS filings in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.

I'll be here if you have other questions. Feel free to tag my name in the comment section. Wishing you well.
