Hey there. accounts24.

It's a pleasure to see you here in the Community. I'm here with some insight to provide regarding your questions.

You can set up QuickBooks to auto-submit to HMRC. The steps below will guide you through the process:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then choose Company Settings.
  2. Select Payroll, then the Edit icon next to Online filing with HMRC.
  3. Make sure that the slider next to Save Gateway credentials is turned on.
  4. Enter the Gateway ID and Gateway Password.
  5. Select the slider next to Submit FPS automatically with Payroll to turn it on.
  6. Save your changes.

Meanwhile, for the HMRC submission reference, you can view your submission log to get it. For additional insight about this, I recommend following these articles:

Thanks for that.

What i am looking for is whether it is possible to obtain the submission reference number from HMRC. In my previous payroll software, RTI submissions provides a string of texts from HMRC; just wondering if there is same for QBO payroll?

Also, is there a more user friendly report that shows what was submitted instead of the codes?

Hello,

You are only able to view the code submitted to HMRC (through clicking the submission on Payroll Tax). Unfortunately there is no other way to view what was submitted.

Thanks,
