I appreciate you connecting here in the Community space, @Aimen. I'm here to help you ensure the NI value doesn't show up as zero when importing inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before anything else, I recommend reviewing if there's NI or if you set up an NI rate in the employee's profile inside the company. This way, the system can recognize what you're importing and prevent having zero as the value. I'll outline the steps below to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, select the Payroll tab and choose Employees.
  3. Select an employee and then go to the Pay history.
  4. Double check the details in the National Insurance section.
  5. Once done, click Save button.

If everything checks out and the issue persists, you can contact our Customer Care Team. This way, they can conduct investigations that will help determine the root cause of the problem and serve the resolution. Refer to this page for more details: QuickBooks Support.

I'm also adding this handy article to learn more about how the system calculates National Insurance contributions: How to back calculate National Insurance contributions in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.

I assure you I'll be ready if you have other questions about QuickBooks, importing data into the program, or handling employee profiles. You can drop by anytime, and I'll be around to extend a helping hand. Keep safe.
