my QB advanced payroll is not working and is coming up with several errors and my HMRC ID details are correct, this is getting quite frustrating as I can't find a soul on the whole of the planet who has had the same issue as me, please can someone suggest what I can do as CS isn't 24hrs and a don't have time in the day to call them atm

I couldn't add an attachment because apparently I'm not signed in somehow so I linked it below

I've checked and confirmed by accessing the attachment you've added that you're facing difficulties with Tax code updates and the Pay run error 1046, bujarra.

Please know that we haven't received reports similar to these issues. No worries, I have your back in handling these matters so you can get past them.

The Tax code updates error occurs if some elements affect HMRC to check and apply the updates. To address this situation, ensure you've marked all notices as Yes from the HRMC PAYE dashboard:

  1. Access the HRMC PAYE dashboard and Sign in using your Government Gateway ID and Password.
  2. Go to the Messages section and select Notice Preferences.
  3. Pick Notice Options and set notices to Yes.
  4. Going through this process ensures any new updates will automatically reflect in QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, let's go over some browser troubleshooting to help revitalize the system and remove excessive data build-up. Let's start by opening a private windows:

  • Google Chrome: CtrlShiftN
  • Mozilla Firefox: CtrlShiftP
  • Microsoft Edge: CtrlShiftN
  • Safari: CommandShiftN

From there, try updating the tax code/notices. If you can seamlessly do so, kindly go back to your regular browser and clear its cache and cookies. Otherwise, consider using another supported browser.

Meanwhile, the Pay run error 1046 triggers depending on specific events:

Factor 1: The User ID and Password are copied and pasted elsewhere. If this is the case, it's essential to input them manually instead.

Factor 2: Incorrect HRMC PAYE reference number. Ensure you've entered the accurate one. For reference, follow Step 2 from this link: Tax code notices in QuickBooks Online Standard (Advanced) Payroll.

Factor 3: Your account is new or just recently activated. In this scenario, it might take some time for HRMC to verify your account and update their system.

Whenever you encounter the same problem after fixing everything, I recommend contacting HRMC directly so they can help you thoroughly. For more details about handling payroll issues with specific codes, click this link: Resolve payroll error codes in QuickBooks Online.
