Hello Community,

I have two employees who are paid in cash. I run the normal payroll for them but can't work out how to show they have been paid from our 'Cash in hand' account.  Thanks for your help.

It’s nice to see new faces here in the Community, @KMdairy. I can assist you with your cash payroll in QuickBooks Online.

Paying employees in cash is a lawful and legitimate method of paying their compensation. Both businesses and employees gain from dealing with cash payments, but be careful because there are tax and legal ramifications if done incorrectly.

In this case, I suggest you contact our payroll support team to further assist you with your concern about the two employees paid in cash.

Here’s how to contact them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Form the upper right, go to Help (?).
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then choose Let's talk.
  5. Select a way to communicate with us:
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.
  • Ask the community for help from businesses like yours.
