Payroll

I've just had a tax code for an employee automatically updated by HMRC, but when trying to run this month's payroll I have a Quickbooks notice - Add simon’s info to pay them.

I've checked everything in his info and it is all there and correct, I've re-entered everything and saved, but it makes no difference. What can I do?

Hello there, @sjm14.

Let's do some troubleshooting steps so you can fix the notice and run this month's payroll using QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP).

Based on your description, I can tell that the error you've encountered is a browser cache-related issue. Your browser saves files to load websites faster on your next visit. But over time, it'll get outdated, which can cause performance issues using QBOP.

To fix this, you can perform some troubleshooting steps. Start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, go to the Payroll menu and run payroll.

If you're able to do so, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

When everything is all set, you may also want to check out any of these articles (depending on the payroll service you have) as your reference to guide you in managing payroll transactions and employees using QBOP:

Let me know in the comments below if you have other payroll concerns or questions about managing employee transactions in QBOP. I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @sjm14.
