Payroll narrative

Hi, I am using Quickbooks standard payroll online and previously when I process the weekly payroll the narrative is blank.  However for the last 2 weeks it's started to automatically fill with "QBO VAT Adj" followed by a 2 digit consecutive number for each employee? If I try to delete, it automatically reappears! 

 

It would be much more helpful if it displayed the employees' name.

It's possible that there's a journal entry (payroll or regular journal entry) created before these transactions that has a 'QBO VAT Adj" reference/memo. QuickBooks then follows or puts the same reference info in the succeeding transactions, which is why it started to automatically put QBO VAT Adj in the payroll transactions. 

 

You can look for the first transaction that has the reference and delete the information. You can also contact our Payroll Support Team so they can help you further with this. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help menu at the top-right corner.
  2. Select Contact Us. 
  3. Let them know that you need help with your payroll journal, then click Let's talk.
  4. Select the available options (chat or get a callback).
