QBO HMRC FPS rejected for 2 months, support cannot help

Hello community,

I've had a pretty terrible experience with intuit. I cannot get PAYE FPS submissions to succeed and after multiple attempts, over 2 months, to get intuit to help resolve it, they still cannot tell me exactly what the problem is and tell me to "contact HMRC".

Does anyone in the community have a better grasp on this than the authors? Who are these yet unnamed HMRC heroes that I should contact? It's a pretty big org and wondering which HMRC department handles errors of external private companies integrating MTD?

Please note, I really have tried all the publicly available suggestions from intuit so please refrain from link those, that is what human support was for!

Thanks in advance

I understand you're in a tough spot here, lbennett0.

I'll take note of your experience with our customer support so we can submit proper feedback. We'd like to have this opportunity to help you in a more timely and efficient manner in the future. That said, we'd like to make up to you by ensuring you get the help you need.

A common cause of rejection when submitting an FPS is the credentials entered. It's either not activated yet, or it was entered incorrectly could be PAYE, ref and accounts office number. To verify, can you click on the rejection, and detailed error will show why it has been rejected for.

To activate your credentials, see this article for steps: Turn on RTI reporting to HMRC in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. Once done, follow these steps to check if the entered credentials are correct:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Hit the Payroll tab.
  4. Search for the Online filing with HMRC section, then click it.
  5. Check if the entered credentials are correct. Make changes to it if necessary.
  6. When finished, press Save, then Done.

After that, go back to submitting your FPS in QuickBooks Online. However, if you're still getting the same issue, I'd suggest giving them a call again for further investigation.

If you'd like to view all your submitted FPS and EPS, view this article: View submitted FPS and EPS filings in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. You can find a list of FAQs right at the bottom of the page.

I'll be right here to continue assisting if you have any other concerns or further questions. Just post them below, and I'll get back to you.
