Question

Quickbooks won't allow me to transfer employee Pension to new SIPP in current tax year

Hello, help on changing an employees pension scheme would be very helpful:

When I attempt save the the employees pension as the new SIPP i've added I get this message:

'You cannot change an employee's pension scheme once they have been paid in the current tax year.'

When i attempt to change the existing pension details I get this:

'You can’t change your provider type after employees have started paying into the workplace pension.'

Both Nest (existing) and Interactive investor (new pension) and pension advice service say an employee should be able to change their pension at any time.

Frustrating, any help would be very much appreciated. TIA

I've got your back, @NBSteve.

Once you've already run payroll for employees the option to change the pension scheme is unavailable. To further assist you with this. I recommend contacting our Payroll support team to help you transfer employee Pension to the new SIPP. They can give you the options you need to do. Follow these easy steps to connect with them:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Contact us.
  3. Under What can we help you with?, enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. You'll be routed into the Choose a way to connect with us page.
  6. Choose Get a callback or Start a chat.
