Welcome to the Community space, @kenbrown1010.

Let me share insights and help you download the sample manual time import.csv.

To access the sample manual time import.csv, you'll need the Manual Time Import option in the Feature Add-ons in QuickBooks Time (QB Time). And to do this you'll need to reach out to support to get it added.

Here's how:

  1. For help options, select Find answers and get helpImage of Get Help icon.
  2. Search existing Product Help articles.
  3. If you can't find an answer, select Contact Us and Post a Question.
  4. Choose a way to connect with us:
    • Chat with us to chat with a support expert.

Once you already have the option, you can follow the steps here to import time through a CSV file: Export or import time data in QuickBooks Time.

You might want to get answers to common questions about QB Time and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) integration: QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Desktop integration FAQ.

Using the Punch Time Import OR Manual Time Import tool in QBTime, I am having an issue using a custom field for service item. Even after confirming the service item is in QBO and QB Time, when using the tool it states the below. I have tried changing the column header, renaming the service item, adjusting the template provided.

Has anyone had success importing service items into QB Time with the Punch Time Import OR Manual Time Import tool? If so, what was the fix? I even tried w/ QB Time support w/ tier 2 and tier 3 w/ no luck.

Line 2: Oops! There is no custom field called:Panel Installation Time, please correct and try again.

Thanks,
Joel

@kenbrown1010

Do you have QB Desktop? You can prepare data with the following template

NameTransaction DateCustomerService ItemPayroll itemDurationClassBillableNotes
John Marks01/09/2020Nguyen, TuanLaborRegular Pay1:25
John Smith02/09/2020Nguyen, TuanLaborRegular Pay2:00

Kathy Linklater02/09/2020Links, JohnLaborRegular Pay1:25
Johnny Deep02/09/2020Links, JohnLaborRegular Pay2:00

then use an importer tool to proceed. It's $199 one time license.

Thanks for the info. For the time being, yes, just QB Desktop. I just need the actual sample time import csv file. I'm a software developer, so no need for me to purchase anything 🙂 Not sure why QB does not have this sample readily available and that I have to contact QB Support to get the sample.
