Let me help set up the payroll service in QuickBooks Online, themarlowbuilder.
Before you can run payroll, make sure you:
- Register as an employer with HMRC to receive your PAYE reference number, Accounts Office reference number, Government Gateway user ID, and password
- Turn on Standard Payroll and Real Time Information (RTI) reporting
- Complete the setup for all of your employees
- Once done, you can start paying employees.
You can also browse this article for instructions on how to enter your business information for tax purposes. Then, enable Making Tax Digital (MTD) and authorise QuickBooks to connect to HMRC.
- Get set up for QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.
- Turn on MTD for VAT and connect QuickBooks to HMRC.
