Hello,

I'm far from liking core payroll all the simplicity of standard has truly gone! I am trying to register ssp and also unpaid sick leave in payroll is there a simple way of doing this? I have tried to configure as a minus figure in pay types but doesnt actually deduct when running payroll. I don't want to set up as an after tax deduction and there seems to be no real answers on the web.

Thank you in advance!

I appreciate you connecting here in the Community space, @ladyc84. I'm here to expound information regarding setting up Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Unpaid leave while ensuring they don't appear as after-tax deductions inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Please note that there are things to consider to be eligible for the SSP and best to comply with the requirements so you can add it to the employee's profile. You can visit this page for more details: https://www.gov.uk/employers-sick-pay/eligibility-and-form-ssp1

The SSP and Unpaid Leave configuration in the employee's profile is complete, and no further setup options are available. To prevent these items from being classified as After-Tax Deductions, please consult an accountant or ProAdvisor for guidance on using the correct pay type to ensure they show as Pre-Tax.

If you need help handling SSP and Unpaid Leave inside QBO, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. See this page for more details: QuickBooks Support.

On the other hand, I'm providing this article to learn more about Statutory Sick Pay in QuickBooks: Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.

I'll be ready if you need my assistance managing employee deductions and contributions inside the program. It's my top priority to ensure you're heard and assisted on time. Keep safe.
