Hi Nickdobson

What payroll system are you using, standard or advanced and have you recently migrated from our desktop product?

Thank you for providing additional information above, Nickdobson. This way, I can provide you the current information about journal posting in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll.

When you run payroll, QuickBooks automatically creates a journal for accounting postings. This works both for Standard and Advanced Payroll systems.

However, there's a current product investigation about journals not posting when running payroll. I assure you that our product engineers are actively working to have a permanent fix as soon as possible.

As an alternative, you'll have to create the payroll journals manually for your employee. This way, you'll be able to record your payroll transactions in your QuickBooks Online Accountant account.

In line with this, I suggest contacting our Customer Care team. They can add your account to the list of affected users. This ensures you're in the loop about the investigation's status and its fix. You can provide the INV-43847 to our representative as your reference. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern under What can we help you with?.
  4. Click Let’s talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with a live agent.

To make sure we address your concern on time, contact us within Monday to Friday every 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST. Then, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM every Saturday.

Furthermore, you can effectively manage your Standard Payroll account by referring to this article's sets of links: QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. It contains sections on how to set up and run payroll, manage employees, about Real Time Information (RTI), and Workplace Pensions to name a few.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
