Question

We are currently using QBO, but wish to change back to Desktop Pro. Can the data be transferred automatically?

Hello Trevor,

We won't be able move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop automatically. You'll need to export the lists manually:

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Export Data.
  2. Under the Reports and Lists tabs, click the Export to Excel button.

Then, import them to QuickBooks Desktop. You can use this article to import the lists: Import or Export MS Excel Files.

Meanwhile, you also need to enter the transactions manually. You can consult your accountant to see if they have a way to enter the transactions in bulk.

Feel free to drop by if you need more assistance with this.

This thread is tagged as being from the UK, the QBO to QBDT export is only available to US accounts, and it does not work accurately anyway.

No, there is no way to export data from your UK QBO to desktop, and to be honest you are better off.  The intuit US only export to QBDT does not work accurately and not everything is transferred.
