When using QuickBooks on my ipad (the full version not the app) I cannot open payroll, I just have a blank screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for your answer @Rea_M .  I seem to remember doing that fix when I had the same problem on my desktop.  Sadly though, I've tried doing that for Safari and Chrome on my ipad and it still doesn't work on either of them.

I don't get any error message though, just a blank panel (I've attached a screen shot)

Unlike @Tabby1 it has never worked on my ipad, I don't know if @Tabby1 is also in the UK.  Does it make a difference that I am?

Thanks again

Joining the conversation to help with your question about using payroll in an iPad, WindsorGardens.

The payroll function for QBO UK needs to be accessed on a desktop browser using a computer or laptop. At the moment, you can use other QBO functions using mobile or iPad devices except for payroll. This is the reason why the page remains blank after clearing browser history or switching to a different browser.

Customer feedback and suggestions on how to improve your QBO experience are always welcome. They are reviewed by our engineers whenever updates are designed. We encourage you to send a feature request about being able to open payroll on mobile and iPad devices. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Type in your product suggestions and click Next.

Hi WindsorGardens, thanks for your post - are you using the Safari web app to open QuickBooks?

June 20, 2022

I’m accessing the internet with Safari and then going to the QuickBooks website. Is that what you mean? I do seem to remember having the same problem on my desktop when i first got payroll, but can’t remember how we sorted it out.  We had to clear something or the other (I’m afraid I’m not that technical!)

Thanks WindsorGardens, the payroll does need to be ran on a desktop browser (using a computer/laptop device) unfortunately, as the browser apps are not supported for this. Apologies for any confusion. 🙂

That’s crazy! Is there anything in development? I know North America have a payroll app - why is there nothing for the uk??

June 20, 2022

Hello WindsorGardens,  The UK app is primarily an on-the-go version for invoicing and receipt capture for expenses. We can only say we do not have a separate app in the UK currently for payroll, we can pass on your comments but there's nothing currently in development.

Hi,

I am having the same issue. Last month, on my iPad, I could use safari to open Quickbooks, select payroll and it worked. This month it doesn’t work, just a blank screen. The lack of functionality has nothing to do with an app, it’s not working through SAFARI. How can it work last month but not now?

Hello there, @Tabby1. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps so you can open QuickBooks Online (QBO) and access payroll using a Safari browser on your iPad.

Based on your description, it seems that you have a corrupted or damaged webpage data due to the browser's collection of files over time from frequent page visits.

To log in to QBO and make your payroll work using a Safari browser on your iPad, I encourage you to clear your cache or history and cookies. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Safari.
  3. Tap Clear History and Website Data.

You can also refer to this article to learn more about deleting cache and Intuit-specific cookies to quickly fix issues when using QBO: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

However, in case the display error persists, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Also, you may want to check out one of our Help pages as your reference in managing your payroll account and employee transactions using QBO Payroll: QuickBooks Payroll Support. It includes QuickBooks help articles, Community discussions with other users, and video tutorials, to name a few.

You can keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other payroll concerns or questions about managing your QBO account, I'm always ready tp help. Take care, and have a great day, @Tabby1.
