Company Closure

Hello,

I am closing my company next month so need to do 2 things:

- Cancel my quickbooks subscription at the end of Feb which I believe I know how to do.  How much notice do I need to give before I am charged for March VAT subscription?

- I need to submit my final VAT return mid-February which is earlier than my end of quarter (March 31st) usual VAT filing date.  Am I able to submit a return mid-period like this?  I seem to think that I can't submit the return until after the period end date.  Is there a way around this?

Thank you

Michael

Hi, Michael. Thank you for posting your question here in the Community forum. I'm here to answer them for you.

First, to cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription, ensure you give notice before the next billing cycle begins to avoid charges for the upcoming month. For example, cancel by the end of February to avoid March charges if billed monthly. You can check out this resource: Cancel your QuickBooks subscription or trial.

If you need assistance with the cancelation process, you can contact our QuickBooks Support Team for detailed guidance.

Here's how:

  1. Click this link: https://intuit.me/CU.
  2. Select the product and the edition.
  3. Enter a summary of your concern in the What's your question? field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Decide how you would like to connect with us.

Additionally, the option to submit VAT early is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). For more information, please refer to this article: Send a VAT Return.

As a workaround, you can reach out to HRMC to ask for other options you can use to submit the VAT outside QuickBooks Online.

Finally, to record your VAT payments in QBO, you can check out this link for detailed instructions: Manage VAT payments in QuickBooks Online.
