I have received the 2021 desktop trail version (accountant) in a link, in order to extend my desktop for 30 days to enable me to complete my VAT return.

I clicked on File MTD as usual but i get the message PLEASE CHECK THE VAT REGISTRATION NUMBER AND TRY LOGIN AGAIN. PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE LINK TO THE CLIENT IS COMPLETED.

I think I am getting this message bc this is an accountants version.

How do i manage to file my VAT return now?

Hello there. I appreciate you providing details of your concern here in this thread. 

 

Let's work together to ensure you'll get to file your VAT return in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Before anything else, make sure that your VAT registration number is correct. Once ready, let's now perform these steps on how to file your VAT return:
 

  1. In your QBDT file, click on File VAT instead of File MTD.
  2. Then click on Change User.
  3. Log in using your Government Gateway ID and password.
  4. Once done, file your VAT return again.
