Hi, I have previously submitted VAT Returns with HMRC and not QuickBooks. Now I have tried my first return with QuickBooks and MTD and the figures are wrong, how do I correct these so that they are correct. Every figure is wrong in each box. Any help would be appreciated.
What an amazing two days we had at QuickBooks Connect. It was inspiring to be around so many of you Accountants, App partners and Small Business/Self-employed customers for the action-packed two-day event held at the fantastic (and very sunny) Old-Billingsgate venue. The weather wasn't the only thing hotting up as QuickBooks Head of Product Europe, Shaun Shirazian showed how both accounting professionals and small businesses can use QuickBooks, now, to file in compliance with the biggest tax compliance change in a generation; HMRC’s Making Tax Digital for VAT. range of product innovations to help accounting professionals and small business put digital at the hear of finances. We've also launched a MTD hotline, which can be reached at 0808 168 4238, 9-5 Monday to Friday. In solving for MTD, QuickBooks developed tools to help accounting professionals and small businesses save time in the VAT work flow: SmartCheck - Unique to QuickBooks, it h
We are an ecommerce business with many years of book keeping/small business record keeping behind us .... we are now contemplating MTD compliance with the aid of QB. We have no concern about the day to day upkeep once we are integrated and functioning correctly in QB’s. Our concern is confined to taking our pay on order ecommerce trading model with 5 separate sales income streams each with their own expenses and direct commission creditors and direct payments, all eventually landing in our current account from which is drawn our checking account and direct debits etc ..... and installing the architecture and principles of that process into the architecture and principles of QB’s such that we can press the button and it will correctly work out our tax liability and send a return to HMRC. Anybody else in this position for exchange of problems and solutions? Cheers, Peter.
QB2019 desktop - Anyone know of a link that we could provide to clients that shows the steps needed to link their Quickbooks to HMRC to enable them to submit MTD VAT returns?
Making Tax Digital is less than a month away, so our very own Community all-star and ProAdvisor @EmilyMockett takes you through a readiness plan and common questions she's seeing as we edge closer to 1st April 2019. In her own words: It’s probably safe to say that if you run a business or work in the world of accounting and bookkeeping, you probably have heard the term ‘MTD’ being mentioned in the last few months, if not over the last year. Many businesses have recently received letters through the post from HMRC as the April 2019 deadline is fast approaching. For many VAT registered businesses, they are fully prepared and have nothing to worry about. If you’re not prepared, then you haven’t got long to get yourself MTD compliant! Making Tax Digital (MTD) requires VAT registered businesses with a turnover of £85,000 to file their VAT returns digitally through an approved accounting system such as QuickBooks Online. The £85,000 refers to your sales income and n
I have a client who is having problems filing their VAT return through QuickBooks online. They are on the MTD pilot scheme and have been filing returns through QBO for months. They then did all the correct steps to move over to MTD fully. Should they have done this before 1 April 2019? After filing the VAT return through QuickBooks, the VAT return has not been received by HMRC. The status on QBO states it has been received. They have phoned both HMRC who have told them to contact QBs. QBs have told them to contact HMRC. Another point to this issue is they now have two separate accounts under 'Taxes'. One is for HMRC, the other is called 'Laerdal'. Does anyone has any ideas why this has appeared?
I have upgraded to QB Desktop 2019 as have been informed needed to for Making Tax Digital. How do I register for Making Tax Digital on QB Desktop as I cannot find a link any where? Many thanks
Hi there, One of our clients uses Quickbooks and is due to file VAT returns directly to HMRC (Making Tax Digital) from April 2019. However the home currency for Quickbooks is set up as Euros. Is this going to present a problem when filing directly with HMRC VAT? How will the client know the GBP equivalent due to/from HMRC when filing directly, as the VAT return report is presented in Euros. Thanks in advance. Kathleen Smith
Does anyone know when Quickbooks will be ready to connect to HMRC for the pilot of Make Tax Digital. I want to get some of my clients onto the pilot but can't do that till Quickbooks is ready. Any ideas?
