Linking Quick Books to my Government Gateway

Hello All

 

Whilst setting up my MTD account i accidently tried to sign in using my personal Govt Gateway ID. 

Obviously this threw up an error but now i cannot seem to find a way to go back and try again. 

Can anyone help with this please?

Worry no more, SME Eng. I've got the steps to disconnect and reconnect your MTD account with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

For this, you'll have to turn off MTD. Then, fully disconnect the account. You can follow the steps I'll outline below:

 

Here's how to disconnect:

 

  1. Go to Taxes 
  2. On the upper right, Click Edit VAT.
  3. Choose Edit settings, scroll down then click toggle to turn off MTD.

 

After that, follow these steps to fully disconnect the account:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and settings.
  2. Click Advanced then choose Making Tax Digital.
  3. Hit Learn how to disconnect and follow the in-product messaging to complete the disconnection. 

 

Once successfully disconnected, you can go to Taxes to turn on the connection again, and will be redirected to enter your government gateway details.
