Problem re-authenticate connection between QuickBooks and HMRC as asking for agent service account

Hello, our Client who is  a limited company submits their own VAT returns using their HMRC gateway id. They are trying to re-authenticate QB's with HMRC but are being asked to enter the Agent Services Account which they don't have. Can you tell me how they sort this out please, is it because they are logging in with QuickBooks Accountant online version?

As an accountant when we login & follow instructions for cog/accounts & settings/advanced we do not see a VAT option in the list, has this been changed with the recent MTD update?

Hi SallyMcd, yes that's right - QuickBooks recognizes that the user is signed in as an accountant and as such will request to submit MTD using an Agent Services Account. To workaround this, the client can add themselves as a primary or company admin user to the QuickBooks Online account where they will then be able to submit.

The client is set up as a primary user already

Did they turn on MTD in the main settings of the QuickBooks Online account? 👩‍💻
