Reauthorising MTD connection every 18 months

You mention that it is necessary to have to reauthorise the connection every 18 months and that it is quick and easy and only takes a few minutes and that you will send us a reminder when it's time to do so.  Just to confirm, we have not received a reminder and all we need to do is enter our login details.  Once we've  done that, we'll handle everything else.

 

Can you please send me a reminder so that we can enter our  login details so that you can handle everything else rather than me having to spend over an hour on the telephone to HMRC trying to sort this.

I can share some information about reauthorising the connection, @diane3287. 

 

According to the security requirements of HMRC, it is necessary to reauthorize the connection between QuickBooks and HMRC every 18 months. This is to ensure that any data transmitted from your QuickBooks account to HMRC remains secure.

 

Don't worry, we'll send you a reminder when it's time to do so, and all you need to do is enter your login details. Once you've done that, we'll handle everything else.

Tried to submit VAT return to HMRC but received 

Internal Server Error   rejected VAT return.

Had no message about updating information

I'm here to help you troubleshoot the error you’ve encountered and ensure your VAT return is successfully submitted, Frank.

 

To begin, I recommend changing the filing status from rejected to filed. This will update the status and ensure you can resubmit the return and get past the error. I'd be glad to show you how:

 

  1. Open the Taxes menu.
  2. Choose VAT.
  3. Go to the Returns tab.
  4. Following the rejected VAT return, click on Resubmit return.
  5. Lastly, click on Mark as filed.

 

Please note that once the return is marked as filed, you cannot resubmit for that period to HMRC. If you need to make any further adjustments, please contact HMRC directly.
