Thanks for joining the Community, kieran-barrett.

It's necessary to give appropriate user types and permissions to the people who access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. You can definitely add a user who is only able to create invoices and can't view the bank or enter supplier transactions. I'm glad to guide you on this process.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Manage Users.
  3. Select Add user.
  4. Tick the radio button next to Standard user.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Tick the radio button for Limited and check the Customers box.
  7. Select Next.
  8. Set the user settings.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Add the user's contact info.
  11. Click Save.

This article provides more details: How to add, delete, or change a user's access.

Once done, the newly added user should be able to enter an invoice. The bank and supplier functionalities will be grayed out on the user's end. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Plus sign icon.
  2. Choose Invoice.
  3. Enter the needed details.
  4. Click Save.

That should help you add the correct user access in QBO.

I want to make sure you're able to get this done, so please let me know how it goes. I'll be here if you have any questions about adding a user or in QuickBooks Online. Have a great day.
