Can I issue a receipt of payment through quickbooks?

Welcome to QuickBooks Community, @statcglenhuntly.

 

You can create a sales receipt or send an invoice marked as paid. Follow along below to get started.

 

Create a sales receipt:

  1. Go to + New.
  2. Click Sales receipt
  3. Select the customer from the Customer drop-down. 
  4. Input the sales info, such as the payment method.
  5. Enter line items for the products and services you sold.
  6. When you're done, hit Save and send to email the receipt.

Send a paid invoice:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and click All sales.
  2. Look for the paid invoice.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow under Action and choose Send
