Cant look back and see what message i wrote to my customer when i sent them an invoice. please help? ATM im having to export the invoice to my email to keep track....

Hi there, richardiford.

 

I'll provide information and steps on how to look back and see what message you wrote on the customer's invoice.

 

If you wrote the message in the Message on invoice box, I suggest going to the Invoices page. From there, you can find the invoices you sent to your customers. Then, click each invoice to open it so you're able to view what message you wrote on the invoice.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click Sales at the left panel.
  2. Go to the Invoices section.
  3. Find the invoice you want to open. Then, click it to expand the page.
  4. Go to the Message on invoice box.

 

You also have the option to run the Transaction List by Customer report. From there, you'll be able to see all the invoice transactions. Then, you can select each invoice to view its details including what message you type in the message invoice box. Follow the steps below.

 

  1. Select Reports at the left panel.
  2. Go the search icon and type Transaction List by Customer.
  3. You can click the Customize button to customize the report to see the specific data you want to view.
  4. Hit the Run report button.
  5. Choose the invoice you wish to open and click it.
  6. Go to the Message on invoice box.

 

If you're referring to the message under the Send email page, I recommend going to the Sales tab in the Account and Setting. From there, you can see what message appears when you send an email invoice to your customer.

 

Follow these steps:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner.
  2. Choose Account and Settings. Then, select the Sales tab.
  3. Go to the Messages section and click the pencil icon.
  4. You'll see the message in the Email message box.

 

However, if you manually enter the message in the Send Email page, there's no option to look back and see what message you wrote from there. You'll need to ask a screenshot to your customer so you're able to see the message.
