Question

How do I setup multiple customers for a sinlge project?

Hi,

we import machines and other goods. Every sea container of goods we receive is a PROJECT (e.g CONTAINER 1, 2, 3 etc) and each item from the container (for example #10 machines) is sold to a specific CUSTOMER that normally does a one-off purchase. This means I would need to have multiple customers for one project in Quickbooks, but I'm struggling to sort it out.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi Giulia P,

Thank you for posting to the Community.

When setting up a project in QuickBooks Online, you can only assign one customer for each project. On the other hand, you can create a sub-customer. This is useful if you want to track individuals who are part of a group or specific accounts for a larger organisation. Also, setting up a sub-customer allows you to select a Bill with parent. This option allows you to enter charges for a parent customer and a sub-customer and have both charges appear on the same invoice.
