Question

How do I use my purchase order template on the App? It only allows me to create an invoice without any ability to create other templates such as the purchase order.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Steve!

QuickBooks has options to import or create templates for invoices and quotes. So far, these are the only transactions that have these options.

I think it’s a great idea to be able to put our style on purchase orders. I’m sharing this with our product engineers to make them aware that we like this option.

Hi Jess,

Thanks for your email. So is that to say that I simply cannot create a document, based of the invoice template, titled ‘purchase order’ from any mobile device even though I can on a desktop? It didn’t even seem to work on my phones Internet browser where the Customise buttons at the bottom weren’t responsive to a touch screen which is just absurd.

Any workaround advice would be appreciated as the current state of play means I have to be chained to a computer to do my QuickBooks which is a shocking revelation.

Kind regards,
Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for getting back to this thread.

There's no option to create an invoice template using the mobile browser. You can access QuickBooks through a computer's browser instead to create it.

Here are the supported browsers in QuickBooks:

  • Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Internet Explorer
  • For the Safari and make sure you're using the latest version.

Using another template for the purchase order will not record the details of your vendor. This is because it's still a sales template even if the title is modified to Purchase Order.

I'm going to send this feedback to our product engineers and they might consider adding the option to create other templates especially for the purchase order where the vendor's details will be recorded on the template.

Let me know if you have additional questions or suggestions with QuickBooks.
