Question

I have received an invoice from mcafee purporting to be through Intuit. Is it genuine or a scam?

Let me share details to help with your question about the email that you receive, mattaustin5-yaho.

Official notifications are emailed directly sent by Intuit or QuickBooks, and not through a third-company. They're usually sent through an email that ends with @intuit.com or @e.intuit.com.

If you believe that you have received a phishing or a scam email, you can go to our Security Center and submit a report. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Intuit Online Security Centre.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Look for Report a fake email (or phishing), then click Report a fake email.

Additional information about protecting your information are discussed here: Identify Suspicious Activity, Phishing Scams, and Potential Fraud

You can also reach out to our chat support team so they can verify your account and help you further with this. Go to this article to get their contact details: Get Product Support for QuickBooks Online.

@mattaustin5-yaho

Ignore it. In the US community, some community members reported the same thing. They received an email about Norton for the last 3 months.

I appreciate you for being vigilant on this matter. Scammers often claim they are from Intuit. To verify this, I encourage you to report any suspicious calls or phishing emails to spoof@intuit.com.

Know that we apply strict guidelines and practices to protect all of your personal information. I'll take note and forward this to our Security Support Team as well for immediate investigation.
