Question

I need to send out a recurring invoice earlier than its scheduled. Do I then click "use"? Will this lead to 2 invoices being generated, the scheduled and the 1 I created?

I don't want to end up with duplicated invoices. I just want to use the scheduled one in advance.

It's a pleasure to have you in the Community today, linda177. I've got you covered. Let's work this out so you can set your recurring invoice to be sent a day earlier from the original date that you've set in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Yes, you've got it right. You don't want to click the Use button because it'll only create another invoice that uses the same recurring template you've added to the invoice you created earlier. That said, clicking the Use button will result to duplicate invoices. You'll want to edit the recurring template and set it to send one day in advance. I'll gladly input the steps so you can proceed. To begin, here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Recurring transactions in the Lists column.
  4. Locate the invoice you added the recurring template.
  5. Below the Action column, click Edit.
  6. In the Create   days in advance, enter number the of days you'll want the recurring invoice to be delivered. Since you want them to be delivered a day in advance, you can enter 1.
  7. Once done, hit Save template.
