Greetings, @vivienne-vdm-sbs.

I'll share some insights on how you can apply the payment to a voided invoice.

Voided invoices are considered zeroed-out transactions in QuickBooks. Thus, you're unable to apply any payments on it. In this case, you can create and record another invoice for the customer.

Additionally, a credit will show on the customer's balance once invoices are voided. You'll want to make sure the automatically apply credits option is turned off. If so, follow these steps to manually apply credits:

  1. Click on + New.
  2. Hit Receive payment.
  3. From the Customer dropdown, choose the customer.
  4. From the Outstanding Transactions section, choose the open invoice you want to apply the adjustment note to.
  5. From the Credits section, choose the adjustment notes you want to apply.
  6. For open invoices in the Payment column, fill in how much of the credit you want to apply.
  7. Enter the Payment method, Reference no, Deposit to, and Amount received fields blank.
  8. Fill out the rest of the form, and the Payment date.
  9. Make sure the total is correct after applying the adjustment note.
  10. Once done, hit Save and close.
